Emma by Papillon Bleu UK

This is my newest little girl by a very gifted soft doll artist Patricia.
She has just the most beautiful imagination which matches the sweet faced girls she lovingly creates.
Her newest girl named Emma didn't last long on ETSY!
On first sight I just had to make her mine.
I love the long chats and friendship we have formed over discussing the Orphan's story, my special masquerade doll and the happy news I am to be one of the lucky people to be adopting when their story is done telling.
I can't wait to receive them and all the way from the UK.
Do go and have a look at the Story so far on papillonbleuuk.blogspot.com

Very Cute!

Juliet's Balcony. Verona, Italy

This is Juliet's Balcony in Verona, Italy.
You walk though a stone arch tunnel entrance into a cool Oasis of cobble stone court yard and fountain.
The coolness and silence is what hits you first. Only the splash of the fountain greets you with it's calming words. It's almost a shrine like silence.
People who have travelled here to visit this famous sight seem to take on a respectful quiet.
We all stand around staring up at this magical old stone carved balcony.
You can almost see juliet standing there waiting for her Romeo to climb up and sweetly steal a soft kiss.
To the left of the Balcony is a statue of Juliet. Her left breast and arm are a clean shiny golden colour compared to the rest of her ancient look. This is due to thousands of tourists hands touching her in these places for good luck.
Someone said they have replaced the statue a few time over the years as our pouring, touching and prying hands wear metal body parts away!
This was such a highlight of my European tour.
People write words of love and hope to loved ones on the arch wall where you enter.
I wrote secret words to the one who stole my heart many years ago.

I wonder if he will see it if by chance he too visits this magical place........

Mushroom or Toadstool?

Have a look at this big brown Mushroom / Toadstool I photographed while at Stradbroke Island.
The tops were almost as large as my hand!
Not sure if one should pick and eat so Pops and I decided to just admire it each morning.

More of Princess Poppy

These are the most recent photos I've taken of my Poppy.
She has such a sweet face and loves hopping up onto the couch in my spot when I go off to do something.
I'm sure she thinks if she does this I won't lose or forget her! lol
Sometimes I think about what an AWFUL puppy she was and wonder where this precious little, well behaved, so soft and fluffy best friend came from???
I often tell her she was my gift from God. That he knows what and who we need in our lives at just the right time. Of all the little dogs in the whole world he picked her for me.

She keeps her mummy grounded.

Pillow Sharing.....

Someone likes to share my pillow while I sleep.
It's so hot here at the moment Poppy and I have moved downstairs to the cool of the lounge room.
We have a double foam mattress on the floor and it's so comfy!
It's quiet and always cool. I think we'll just stay here forever and have two craft rooms!!

Kookaburra

Kookaburra sits in the old gum tree....
Merry Merry King of the bush is he...
Laugh Kookaburra Laugh Kookaburra...
Gay your life must be.

Hahah How beautiful is he sitting on the fence waiting to have a feed of mince or left over fish bate.
He would come late each afternoon and hang out on the fence.
Poppy just wanted to get out and chase him!

Not this little dog.

My Bears To Sell

These are my hand sewn German Mohair Teddy Bears.
They have leather paws and vintage glass eyes. Noses have been sewn and each will have there own special neckwear.
The small sparse light cream fur one has his own little knitted scarf which I knitted.
Big braun Bear is so manly and he has a special collar made of bells to remind him of the good old day when he preformed in a circus..... but no more.
The two honey coloured bears who are sitting together were made within a short time of one another and seem to have become inseparable since then. Little Lewis I've named him loves sitting between his big brothers Thomas's legs and feel safe and warm there.
Floppy Burnt Orange Bear has had all his fur clipped off and has a floppy feel to him. Where his belly button should be he has a special wooden button.

How am I supposed to separate them when the time comes to sell them?
This I'm finding is the hard part of creating something form nothing. Spending so much time lovingly sewing them into little fur people with personalities makes it beyond hard to make the decision to sell them.

Just look at their little faces..... How can I???? Sigh

Pears pushed out....

Lol
This is a funny story.
My Felt Pears are all up in arms as they have been pushed out of their warm dry show cabinet.
I had to find them a new home as all my Feltoohlala Girls needed it more.
I had a great idea and now they live in my cake display platter on my kitchen bench.

They all have smiles now!

Home for Felt

This is my felt collections home.
I've cleaned it of any speck of dust, housed it with moisture eating camels and protected it against moths and silverfish which would LOVE to make them their lunch.
It's perfect for the job as the whole cabinet is glass except for the back and has a full glass door at the front. You can really get a sense that they are suspended in air and they appear so clear to view.
I think I'll need to buy another display cabinet soon.
Every morning I see them It makes me smile. I can't believe they are right there in my lounge room.
My Beautiful girls and Baobab Tree

Feltoohlala Girls Arrive

Thursday the 10th Feb was just the most exciting day of all so far.
My three Feltoohlala Girls arrived by post all the way from Hungry.
I went to collect the shops post as I do every day at 9.30am each morning. I told myself to not even think that they might be there as it had only been 7 days since Laurence had notified me she had sent them.
There was a red ticket in the box, though this is normal as we get larger post for the shop from time to time.
Heart rate = slightly elevated..... silly as it can't be them.
Hand over the red ticket....
Post office man come out with a neatly wrapped box. I spy a declaration docket attached....
Heart rate = Speeding up!
I see my name!!   I see the word under Sender. HUNGRY!!!!
Heart rate = Off the scale!!!!!!!

Lol I was so excited and got the girls at work to photograph me holding my most anticipated package.
I unwrapped each layer slowly and took some pice to share with you.
See below the photos showing how beautifully packed and wrapped by Laurence they were.
Included was a gorgeous gift box, a personal hand written message, certificates for each doll and a photo folding card showing the process of making Red Riding Woods and Wolf.
They were way more spectacular than I could have dared to imagine.

I'm addicted to Feltoohlala.
I cant WAIT till she makes more!
Thank you Laurence

My Baobab

This is my Needle Felted Baobab Tree.
He was my very first felt item I purchased.
I refer to it as a 'He' as I think he really looks like a He. lol
He was created by an amazing artist who lives in Poland by the name of Bea.
She has a shop on ETSY.com called FforFelt.
Her Alice in Wonderland series is so worth a look.
Bea had just started selling her quirky felt art on etsy and I was her very first customer.
Isn't that just so special? I'm so honored to have this in my collection as the Boabab Trees home and heritage is Australia.

The baobab was among the first trees to appear on the land.
Next came the slender, graceful palm tree.
When the baobab saw the palm tree, it cried out that it wanted to be taller.
Then the beautiful flame tree appeared with its red flower and the baobab was envious for flower blossoms.
When the baobab saw the magnificent fig tree, it prayed for fruit as well.
The gods became angry with the tree and pulled it up by its roots, then replanted it upside down to keep it quiet...

...

And so here it stands - 9" high with branches extending 12" by 7,5". Handcrafted from top quality merino wool. A spacious hollow to keep your little secrets for the next few centuries or so...

Big Fluffy Bumble Bee in Tasmania

This is one of my favorite photos I took while on my holiday in Tasmania in 2009.
Kristy took me stay at a bed and breakfast her two friends run an hour out of Hobart. Sorry can't remember the name.
In their beautiful garden where the only sound is the gentle whisper of wind and hum of big fat fluffy bumble bees busy doing bumble bee business.
Wisteria hangs lazily inviting them to visit.

Very beautiful

Alice Wonderland

This is the third piece I purchased from Laurence at Feltoohlala on ETSY.
Titled Alice Wonderland.
It's a different style of doll which is called 'Matrioshka', this is where the sculpture has no legs.
She comes with a bottle labeled 'Drink Me'
She was created for a ETSY challenge quarterly blog event.
Her facial features are just so delicate and sweet.

My dolls are about eight inches / 20cm made entirely from wool, needle felted by hand with no stuffing.
Some may have a piece of lace or textile or beads to decorate the dress or the hair, but basically pure wool is my favorite material.
They are not intended for young children, to play roughly with, actually they rather are decorative items although very nice to touch and hold in the hand.
This doll is one of a kind and my own design. It won´t be reproduced.
I keep the right to use the image of the doll once it is sold however.
This is Alice, she was made for the Etsy ADo team 2nd quarterly blog event.
(She has the key so she can go back whenever she wants!)
